Compass Carabiner
The Garmin Montana 650T Purchaser Evaluation - A Best Hunting Or Hiking Handheld GPS Device!
I have had no real problems using theGarmin Montana 650t. Accurate, it has some quirks. One particular is that the new lithium battery has to be charged by way of the incorporated ac adaptor. (EDIT: it may be re-charged through Pc!) I was also disaappointed by the lack of a carabiner (just like the Oregon). But, I had no problem hooking up the Montana to my MacBook Pro to go into mass storage mode. as for maps, I constantly buy a microSD version so I can move it to yet another unit if I want.
That stated, I consider the Garmin Montana 650t can be a fine device. The calibration with the 3-axis compass is smoother than it was on some other designs, I really like the larger and a lot more sunlight-readable screen (still not excellent but much better) and and I specifically such as the new layout. The overlay from the compass on the map (removable, should you like) can be a bonus. The GPS is as accurate as any Garmin unit and operates reasonably properly beneath tree cover.
