How long will a Coleman 16.4oz propane tank last on 10,000 BTU portable gas grill?
Hello, all. I just purchased a Uniflame 10,000 BTU Single Burner Portable Gas Grill from Walmart. From the reviews, the grill does not come with a propane tank and after doing some research, I found the Coleman 16.4oz tanks online. My question is, being that I have a 10,000 BTU grill, how long on average will the tank last me? I will be camping with my family (Myself, Wife & 3 kids) for 4 nights & 3 days and we will be grilling for most of our meals. I read on here that those tanks usually last about an hour with the heat on high but just want to be sure. I don't think we will be grilling for an hour each time we eat. The campsite we are going to also refills tanks, I am not sure if they can fill up the small 16.4oz tanks, but would rather be safe than sorry and have enough fuel to grill for our time there. How many tanks do you think I will need? Thanks so much in advance!!!
Answer:
The 16.4oz tank on a grill that large will last about 1 hour at full power. Get several canisters for the weekend or buy your self one of those smaller lpg tanks they come in varying sizes from 2 to 10 gallons and all for about the same price so get the biggest one that fits your travel needs.
